Wardrobe Malfunction

Okay so it wasn't quite this bad. I go strutting into church this afternoon like I normally do, and we go sit down and get all situated. Then a girl comes over like she's going to talk to me. She's a nice girl in our ward that I've met a couple of times at swim group. I was thrilled to see her coming over, thinking she was going to say hi. I'm always really good at remembering names and faces, but it seems like other people forget who I am the second they meet me. One of my hugest pet peeves is having to introduce myself to people over and over.

Anyway, turns out it didn't matter, because she wasn't coming over to say hi...just to inform me that the zipper on the back of my skirt was all the way down, leaving my skirt wide open for all to see. Awesome. So Steve tried to see if it was just stuck or something, but no...it was broken. Just then one of the counselors in the bishopric came and invited us to give the prayers in sacrament. I had to turn him down, I told him that my zipper was broken. He's probably thinking, "yea right, I get that one all the time..." So Steve said the opening prayer, but I was excused from doing the closing. Needless to say I didn't bear my testimony today either.

We were able to round up a safety pin, but it just didn't do a whole lot of good. It's a good thing we sit pretty much the whole time in church. Walking out to the car I just tried to have the diaper bag around my back, covering me up. It's kinda embarrassing, but kinda funny at the same time. Although really I was just ticked because I really liked that skirt. I'm hoping it can be fixed.

I really liked that skirt too. It was really cute! With the diaper bag you couldn't see anything! Good thing for Shelly.
P.S. I love the title and picture, very appropriate.

That is the funniest thing I have heard all day. I really hope that you can get your skirt fixed. How are you guys liking Veas? Maybe someday we can come out and visit.

Em, you are funny. I like the picture to go with your post. Although, I think a picture of you walking in chapel (without realizing the zipper situation) would've been better. Sorry about your skirt.

Oh that is so sad! You are good to brave out the rest of church! Good thing someone told you. Hopefully your skirt can be saved!

Ok, so I've had nightmares about things like that happening to me while at church so I'm glad it happened to you and not me! Jokes! :) I'm so sorry dude! You seemed to have dealt with it well, and I bet no one besides your friend, Steve, and your bishop knew about it! Hooray! We were asked to give prayers in church yesterday too but I got to say mine. There will be a next time for you! Don't worry!

Oh man that happened to me once but it was at work in front of a courtroom full of people. Not my finest hour.

I hope your skirt can be saved!

I hate being embarrased like that. At least someone was nice and brave to tell you about it so that you didnt go around all through church like that.

I love this story... thanks for sharing, I haven't had one of these moments yet but I have stopped someone in the hall at church with the back of her dress tucked into her garments.

Which skirt? I bet you can fix it with your new sewing machine:) Zippers can be a little tricky though. Yes, I too would be forever grateful for the girl who saved you from walking to the pulpit that way. Oh, dear now that would have been embarrasing.
love you all,
mom

Oh my gosh that is so funny! OK anyway- I didn't consider you being the commenter because you have a blog, and I knew you would use yours, so I was like- who the heck is this person that is trying to go to courtenay's wedding? ha... Ok anyway- I don't remember what you asked now, but I went to teh endowments, I'm not going to the wedding. I have some pictures I"ll post later. Courtenay is so freakin in love! She is always smiling HUGE! she literally glows, and her eyes sparkle, I have NEVER seen her this happy before. Are your parents going to the wedding?

What would have been really sweet is if some toilet paper was trailing out of your zipper hole.

Remember that part on Parent Trap where Susan's dress gets cut off by Sharon and her friends? I love that part. Sorry, your story just brought up that memory.
