Goodbye Old Friend

*This is not our actual car...just one that looked like it. I WISH our car looked that nice!*

Well, we had to say goodbye to the first car Steve and I ever owned as a married couple. We bought it a few weeks before we got married, and I loved that car. Until I got my avalon. Did we sell it, you ask...nope, it got stolen right out from under our bedroom window in the middle of the night by the stupid freaking jerk face tow truck people. Stupid HOA. Apparently it's not okay to park your car in your own driveway here. Technically it's not our own driveway, because we share it with 2 other houses, but it wasn't in the way of anyone else's cars or garages. Now, it isn't the best looking car in the world. Picture the car above, the color totally faded by the sun, and the worst peeling you've ever seen (yes Aimee, even worse than the Buick). We recently got a new car, because the Corolla just wasn't hacking it here in the 110 degree summer weather. It was overheating on Steve since he often has to sit in traffic on his way home from work. Imagine the poor guy in his car, which was probably 120 degrees, with a suit on, having to use the heater instead of the air conditioner so the car wouldn't overheat. Anyway, so since we got the new car there was no place to put the corolla until we figured out what to do with it. Well, this week we had that figured out for us. We either pay 200 dollars to get it back from the towing company, or just give the car to them. We're probably just going to give it to them. So sad.

I just really hate the thought of people being all sneaky in the middle of the night and stealing our car from us. NOT COOL!

I can't believe that happened! That is so rediculous!

I love it! I still can't believe that they towed from right in front of your house!

Wow, that is really rude. I would actually have one of your lawyer friends call them. They should've at least given you a warning, and given you a chance to move it!

I can't believe they didn't at least knock on your door and warn you. Gnarley tow people!

Ok, you win. The Corolla was worse off than the Buick! But I agree with everyone, thats messed up that they towed it!!! And like Destiny said, get someone to raise some hell! Sorry, but a case like this calls for some cursing!

Man, that really sucks! I hate sneaky paople! So unfair...I'm glad we don't have to deal with HOA. They should've at least given you a fair chance to move it or something. So sorry! :o(

Oh my goodness, how lame is that...."oooooh, we're gonna be a sneaky cuz if we actually warned people, then they might move their cars themselves, and we wouldn't have a job." Honestly, that's out of control. Hey, if you want, I'll slash all the tow company's tires....mohahaha....and I'll just say, oh, I forgot to tell you Mr. towing man, if you don't give warnings before you tow, you'll get a visit from......THE SLASHER!

That is so crazy. I can't believe that people would do that. Our first married car was also a Corolla. Probably one of the best cars we have ever owned. But that is still a sad way to lose your dear old car!

Jenni, you would spend $200 getting it out of the lot, and about $2,000 to get it drivable/reliable.

I can understand the being happy and ticked off at the same time. My first car was a Toyota Corolla except it was the nastiest mauve color that only an old widow could like. I totalled the car on an offramp when I lived in Seattle. I was ticked that it was completely my fault, but I was so glad to have the excuse to have to buy a new car. There's just nothing that says ghetto student deluxe like an old Corolla.

I didn't even know you guys had a corolla! Maybe your dad will let you buy that sweet truck with the CTR sticker on it from him.

CTR, baby. CTR.

I remember that car. Such a fast and shocking parting but really I'm sensing it may have been a blessing in disguise.

THAT IS CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! You can't park in your own driveway? What is that! People are supposed to tell you these things! That is so stupid! I'm so sorry! I just can't believe that! Wow! I'm so glad you already had a car but hello! You could've used or sold it. Wow. That is just crazy.

I hate that story! Do you think your neighbors called the Tow Truck or were they just cruising around looking for lives to ruin?

I figured it out! I created my template all by myself. Call me and I will tell you how! It was fun walking with you guys last night. Having fun conversations like that make exercising so much easier!

Okay, we've said goodbye already! Where is another post? :)

That's the most hideous thing I've ever heard of! Two hundred bucks?????? They're nuts! Yeah, you should talk to a lawyer. That's just wrong.
