Easter Weekend Recap

We're back from our quick trip to AZ! We had a great time at the baseball game and hanging out with Steve's grandparents. Here are some pics of the good times!

On Saturday morning we picked up Steve's parents from the airport and headed straight down to Mesa for a baseball game. The White Sox are Steve and his dad's favorite team, so we decided it would be fun to see them in spring training. It was GORGEOUS (a little too hot almost) and such a good, exciting game that ended in a tie. We had a blast.

We spent Easter morning in the hotel room and tried to teach Easton that
looking for plastic eggs is fun. Grandma and Grandpa had him hunting for cute little bath toys that he could put in a bag...he loved it!

Most of our time was spent with Steve's grandparents at their house in Marana (near Tucson). They were so good to us! We went to dinner (Texas Roadhouse, my FAVORITE!!!) and played in their gorgeous backyard and had fun on their golf cart! We had a yummy Easter dinner and took a drive to see all of the pretty desert. I really think it's gorgeous down there. It's so different from Las Vegas...more vegetation and plant life it seemed. Just a really cool part of the country. I loved it!
Steve's parents and grandparents.
They live on a beautiful golf course, and were so nice to take us on a ride all over it to show us everything. There were rabbits everywhere, and lots of pretty cacti. I think I should take up golf. And I want a golf cart. Everyone in their little community has one, and they say they never drive their car unless they leave the complex. So instead of cars driving all over the roads, it was just a lot of golf carts, and when someone has a party, it looks like this:
I was laughing so hard when I saw this. First I smelled the BBQ and then we noticed all the golf carts out front. So cool.

Thanks so much to our family for a WONDERFUL weekend!!

Did you smell the most heavenly smell while you were in Mesa? The orange blossoms were out and it is so yummy! It looks like you had such a fun time. My step-grandparents live on a golf course in a retirement community and I loved all the golf carts there too. Oh and the pic of E and your MIL couldn't be cuter. They look like twins!

I remember you telling me about the orange blossoms, but all I could smell in mesa was beer because we parked right by the ball park! The orange trees were awesome though!

Ah, beer and baseball, there's nothing sweeter! You know me, I like to chug a brewski every now and then! Looks like you guys had fun. I love driving golf carts and doing donuts on the grass when it's wet! AZ desert is way better than ugly Vegas! Glad you guys had fun. Easton looks totally happy, what were you talking about clinging?

You guys look like you had sooo much fun, I'm jealous. I want to bask in warm weather, I tired of being cold all the time! And the thought of only golf carts driving around is making me laugh out loud. Good times, good times.

Your easter trip sounds like fun! I love that they all drive golf carts around. I wonder if there is a lot of cart theft around. You know, old people sneaking out at night to steal other old people's carts. Kidding. That sort of thing would only happen where I grew up, on the west side.

Glad you had a great trip!

How fun! I want a golf cart when I get old.

Are you from Vegas? My really good friend is from Vegas. Do you know of the Fords?

So what's your big prediction for this week's LOST. Oh wait are they going to make us wait till later in April?! I can't remember now.

Ah, you need to move to Liberty Lake. The town has a thing where it is legal to drive golf carts around. It is great.

Why am I leaving again?

Well, what can I say but that I am jealous. One that you are again basking in all the warmth of the sun and secondly that you guys all got to hang out together. I guess when you get a little older, you learn to appreciate your parents more. I love my dad, he is a wonderful man and Nita is a special lady. Together they are great. Love the picture of the family together.

Thanks for modern technology and this blog space. I appreciate the opportunity to share in your life and your family experiences. Thanks a ton!!!!!

Wow, that kind of picture with all the generations in it is priceless! Way to go! I think I would like to retire at a place like that! Can you just imagine Darren at 70, driving us around in our golf cart?

Love the Pics. Expecially of E. Can't wait to see him in a few weeks. The kids talk about it all the time now. Ash is counting down.

Our school has golf carts for "security reasons". We use them for good behavior rewards ("bribs"). I could take you on a trip around campus to all the places you can catch some good air. For an entire year it was the highlight of my day to take my students for rides.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! I would love to drive around a golf cart when I'm old. Can't really drag race in those things though so I may reconsider. ;)
