Answered Prayers

When Easton was tiny and I was a brand new mom, I remember saying a lot of prayers. Long ones, short ones, some just downright ridiculous. I was reminded of those days last night when Easton was having a hard time going back to sleep. We're in Idaho right now, and both of us aren't feeling very well or getting much sleep. Last night my prayers went like this:

Prayer 1: Heavenly Father, please bless my sweet little angel so that he can feel comfortable and get the rest that he needs...

10 minutes later...still screaming

Prayer 2: Heavenly Father, I know Easton doesn't feel well...but he'd feel better if he could just fall asleep...

10 minutes later...still screaming

Prayer 3: Okay, Heavenly Father, please give me the patience I need to endure this screaming...

5 minutes later...still screaming

Prayer 4: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! PLEASE JUST MAKE HIM GO TO SLEEP, I'M SO TIRED!!!!!!!!

Finally, some rocking and motrin did the trick and he was able to fall asleep.

Prayer 5: THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I have those prayers ALL THE TIME! When Janae was little she was a terrible sleeper - Heavenly Father heard that same sequence of prayers from me several times a night =) Hope you both feel better soon and are able to get some much needed rest!

Oh poor guy!! As long as you didn't start swearing in your prayers they usually work eventually. :) I swear on my life we didn't go through Vegas, we went straight down through Utah, on like all these tiny little roads through little towns. Google Maps told me to go this way so we did. Plus we drove during the nights so that way Allie would just sleep, or else you KNOW i would have come to visit. Whatcha doing in Idaho?

Isn't it awesome, how Heavenly
Father answers our needs even when we seem to be at our wits end. He is so loving and kind, and the master teacher. All these things shall be for thy good and give thee experience. I love the power of prayer, and faith. When used together, miracles happen.

Glad Easton settled down for you. Sometimes it's hard to sleep in a different bed, even if it is for the best just to sleep. Have fun in Idaho.

Love ya

Oh Em...that is no fun at all. It is especially hard to be sick when away from home. I hope you both feel better soon so you can enjoy your trip. And way to say prayers instead of just cry and throw your own fit.

I know those prayers! Poor little guy. Its amazing how Heavenly Father lets us go and keep pushing untill we feel like we can give no more and do no more, then he gives us our answered prayers. Just when we need it most. I love it.
