The Rest of the Trip

Our trip up to Utah was really quick but definitely worth it. I always enjoy visiting Salt Lake, and it was a bonus to see all of Steve's family. Happy 75th to his grandparents, thanks for a great party! My first attempt at sushi (sort of), and can I just say that I love hors d'oeuvres? People walking around with trays of food...I swear they were there just for me.

Birthday boy. Unfortunately we didn't get one with his wife...she was busy entertaining guests. And I think my batteries were dying in my camera...every picture I tried to take that night was blurry.

The party was at the Jewish Center in Salt Lake, and I thought the view was incredible...so gorgeous! I keep thinking I'm getting used to the prettiness (ugliness) of Las Vegas, but going places like SL make me sad for what I'm missing.Cousin Ashlynn. One of Steve's favorite things to do is tease her. She has a cast on her left arm, so all weekend he was telling people to sign her right arm. She was too smart for us.On the way home we stopped in Beaver for a minute to see my cute grandma. Easton was shy at first, but thankfully he warmed up. He can't resist grandmas. We had a great trip...it's fun to get away once in awhile. And thanks to our friends for letting us use their dvd player in the car, Easton loved it and it was a lifesaver for us!

Cute pics, I love the one of you and Steve! Where's the picture of your cake? Go Celtics, Chris is pissed! He said he doesn't want to watch basketball again for 6 months- I told him I would like that in writing! Anyways, I updated my blog finally!

Ok so I didn't know you had a grandma in the Beav!!! Raleigh's grandparents live there too. I bet you money they know each other! As your Grandma next time if she knows Vern or Mary Thompson.

I'm learning to love those quick little trips to visit family/friends! They are the best! It's always fun to get away for a couple of days and break up the routine.

On a sidenote: I can't believe Camp is in less than 6 weeks!! I have so much to do!!

I love the pics. Congrats to the Celtics by the way. Mike was so bummed, but said that they deserved it. So, whatever!!!

You know you have been out of Oregon for awhile when you think Salt Lake is so pretty and green.

Why is your hair so long? Did you eat special food? Tell me your secret. Mine is taking FOREVER to grow. I know it is a petty complaint but I am a petty person.

That DVD player must have been great if you can make such a genuine smile in those pictures! Family get togethers are the best though. Easton really is so cute. That's so great that he warmed up the your sweet Grandma. She is darling.

I'm so jealous that you live within driving distance of family! What I wouldn't give to be able to get away for the weekend to see them. But, my brother and sister-in-law are moving to D.C. soon so they will be in driving distance for a year or so until we're finished here. Dido (is that how you spell that?) to everyone who said your picture is so cute! You are just beautiful!

So john and i have been trying to get all caught up with everyone with Lost- we started season 1 back in february and now we just started the first 2 episodes of season 4. In the past i always go onto your blog and when you would write about the most recent episode i was always like, "wait! no! i can't read this... it'll totally ruin it!" But now i am totally gonna go way back and read them after i watch that episode! I am excited.... just thought id let you know :)
