Sociology 101

Well, I was FINALLY able to watch the season finale of Lost. I've pretty much been in hiding trying to stay away from hearing anything about it. Here's what I thought:

I almost cried twice. Once when Jin exploded and Sun had to watch. The other time was when Desmond saw Penny. OH MY GOSH! That was the best ever, I was so happy for them!

I think that most of the time, Lost writers do a pretty good job of making impossible things not look too corny, but I'm sorry, Ben going through a tunnel and ending up in Antarctica to turn a wheel just wasn't doing it for me. The effect of the island disappearing was way cool, and I loved everybody's reaction to it, but how it happened was a little too crazy pants for me.

You'd think that being a sociology major would have helped me out a little in this episode. I realized that John Locke and Jeremy Bentham were both sociologists, but still didn't think it could be John in the coffin. After seeing him there, I guess it made sense. The others know how to come and go from the island, and since John is King Other now, I guess he can do what he wants.

What the heck did Sawyer whisper to Kate?

I think Jack will have a heckuva time getting all the Oceanic 6 survivors to go back to the island, but we'll see. I guess that's why there are still 2 seasons left. I am hoping for a conclusion that makes me happy. One where Jack isn't a druggy, Hurley isn't crazy, and Sayid quits this assassinating business.

All in all I enjoyed the finale and it's still my number 1. Can't wait for next season!!!

I am so with you on the part where Ben was turning that wheel being a little too bizarre (stupid) for me. But overall loved the finale. I am holding out that Jin somehow got off the boat before it blew up. And I am hoping for the same overall ending as you...Jack just can't be a druggy!

Amen, sister!!! I can't wait for Lost to start up again, so pretty much I have to wait for forever! I think I teared up a couple of times too, and Ben turning a wheel?!, that was lame! But all in all, a very good season finally in my humble opinion.

I agree with everything you said. I about had a heart attack with Sawyer jumped out of the helicopter (does it bug anyone else that they never call it a helicopter, only a bird and chopper?). I thought he was a goner. I'm so glad that boy can swim.

Umm... I have NOT A CLUE what you just said! I have NEVER seen an episode of LOST. --Gasp!!-- I know, I know. I probably should've told you to sit down before reading this. Anyway. It just so happens that Lost started the same season as Gray's Anatomy and I think another show that I watch. I was too invested in Gray's to take on another series. Then when I started hearing all about it, as much as I wanted to watch, I didn't want to have to catch up. So here I am. Never missed an episode of Gray's and never seen an episode of Lost. As a sidenote, I am COUNTING DOWN to the start of Army Wives this summer!

I finally watched the finale last night - we are such devoted volleyball players that we had to miss it on Thursday :) I liked the finale and I have to say that Sawyer is awesome - I knew he was going to jump! And even though Sayid does kill people, he is definitely who I would pick to be stranded with. He kicks butt! Plus, remember he liked the girl named Shannon in the first season? :)

I loved the season finale and I am so excited for the next season, too. How long will it be though, like, a year?? Just joking...or not. Seriously...when does the next season start??

I'm just glad that we've finally gotten somewhere. Before the strike, or before this season, Lost was dragging on and on without giving us answers. So this finale was a goodie! Loved Sawyer jumping, Desmond and Penny, and other things. What I wanna know is HOW in the HECK did baby Aaron survive all the boating and helicopter rides without food! Jeez, FEED THAT KID!!!!! Anyway, Ben and the wheel was lame but cool effect when the island moved. Such a crazy, strange, twisted show that I constantly have to ask for clarity on but loving it! :) Thanks for your take on it!

Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT! Even though Penny isn't in many episodes I just love her character, because she was so determined to find Desmond.

I loved it so much, I had to watch it twice. Darren missed it the first time and it was no fun to watch by myself! Talk about heartwrenching with Jin and then Desmond. I did cry! I'm with Brynne. I wish they'd even tried to come up with any kind of dumb explanation for how they were feeding that 5 week old baby! Ever since Claire left they haven't even addressed it. And he's always content and dry bottomed. :) But I loved how they ended with the casket and that evil Ben still running the show! Oh, I hate his guts! I can't wait for next season!

I'm glad Lost is over because now I don't have to read blogs about it and wonder what the heck you guys are all talking about. Seriously, what are you talking about?

I've been avoiding this post because I haven't watched it. Every episode I'm preoccupied with two things

1. That poor baby Aaron. Has he eaten lately? Oh no, the helicopter is crashing, that's going to wake the baby up.

2. That is alot of running Kate has to do. If I was in her place I would have die already cause I can only run a quarter mile. I need to run.

This is my favorite recap ever. Amen sista. Amen.

The only thing you didn't mention was Claire's crazy talk. What happened when they left the island???!!!!

I want Jack to pull himself together too! And I want Kate to decide who she's going to be in love with...darn it. And I think we will see Jin again with all the other dead survivors. Although, why haven't we seen Charlie as a dead man walking.

Yeah for the kindred spirits of food! We rock. And all those great compliments you gave me were so nice. You are totally welcome at my blog anytime...everyday in fact.
