My Pregnancy Health Plan

My goal this pregnancy is to NOT gain as much weight as I did last time. And also, as much fun as it is pushing out a 9 1/2 pounder...a smaller baby wouldn't be such a bad thing either. I really thought I had been doing good...exercising about 4 days a week or more and trying to make slightly healthier food choices...4 cookies instead of 5, oatmeal cookies instead of chocolate chip...you know, way healthier.

One bonus has been that during the earlier weeks of my being pregnant, those sweet things that I usually love sounded awful to me, and I kind of got out of the habit of eating them, but now, I'm making up for it, and it's all that sounds good! Especially at night, all I want is something sugary, buttery and unhealthy. But, I still try to be good.

Then we went on a tour to the local dairy.

Yesterday all the kids from our play group went to see how milk and ice cream are made. Now, ice cream is my favorite food, so it was torturous anyway, but fresh ice cream straight from the dairy?! I simply cannot say no to that. After we did our tour we watched a video, and then they passed out the ice cream. For some reason, like they knew my will power was low, 2 people come and shove 2 bowls of ice cream in my face. One is for Easton they say, but I tell them that he won't eat it. Well here, take it anyway, they say. So the above picture is of me, polishing off the 2nd bowl of ice cream. And here is Easton, happy with just his juice. I can be happy with juice, I swear I can...I don't need 2 bowls of ice cream!

Cute pics of both of you and the visit to the dairy sounds fun and delicious. Who could resist ice cream from there??
It was so great to visit with you, thanks again for everything.

This is why we are friends. I love that you had to finish off his bowl too. I was just jealous that my little oinker ate all of hers. It was super yummy. Wanna go to Cold Stone now?

congrats on the pregnancy, and good luck trying to resist the sweets!! I think I am craving them more now that Kekoa is out of me!

That is so funny! I have a massive sweet tooth as well and the first trimester of my pregnancy all I wanted was fruits and veggies, but when the third trimester hit . . . boy howdy, it was right around Halloween and I think I ate on my own 15 bags of fun sized candy!! Oh well, right?!

How many times in life do you have an excuse to pack on the pounds guilt free? Live it up, Emily! Go ahead and eat a third bowl.

You both look super cute, by the way.

I agree with Liz. Take the 3rd bowl you know you really want to!

I don't like heathly eating plans that involve me not eating sweets. Although I AM trying to be better.

I don't think two bowls of ice cream is going to hurt you- miss "I can still wear normal clothes in my 2nd trimester"! I have always been able to polish off a huge bowl of ice cream, and I've been taking full advantage of my favorite kinds here in CO. My mom buys the good stuff. I think I have had a huge bowl every night that I've been here! I'll probably gain like 10 pounds while I'm here this week!

I love it! You are a woman after my own heart. I LOVE icecream and would have TOTALLY eaten both and probably not have felt guilty about it, well not very guilty. When I was pregnant with Hannah it was SO HOT here in the summer (with the humidity and such, YUCK!) and I think one day all I ate was icecream and she only ended up being 6lbs 7 oz. Whereas Myah was 8 lbs 6 oz and I ate A LOT healthier! Go figure. I guess the extra good food helped her develop more? Glad things are going well.

MMmmmmm.....fresh ice cream from a dairy....doesn't get any better! And your commercial worthy photo makes me want some of that ice cream even more! Okay, so I have become way too paranoid of what I eat....I'm always looking at my belly wondering if the little bump is mostly baby, or if I'm just gaining extra weight...I'm eating pretty healthy, but not perfectly healthy. I'm just so paranoid....I annoy myself.
Way to go on the exercise! I've been exercising, but I'm not sure if it's intense enough....oh gol....I am over analyzing everything....I need to stop!

Anyway, you're doing great!

Emily, you are so cute. Love the photo, both yours and Easton. Grandpa Foxes favorite is ice cream, so your in good company. Not to mention that it is high on my favorites list.

If I looked as good as you, I would have had a 3rd bowl. But as it is, I can't even have the first. hehe.

Love ya

I do a pretty good job avoiding ice cream most days - it's too expensive and you don't get as much as you used to! But... I couldn't resist fresh ice cream from the dairy, especially if I was pregnant. So creamy, so fresh, so yummy! But I do love that Easton was content enough with just his juice!! :)

My mouth is watering right now. Was that ice cream the best?

I agree with Lizzie. This is the time to eat whatever the heck you want. I say if it sounds good, eat it!

I hear ya. Cute hat!

You are hilarious, and really cute in that first pic! Oh man. I would definitely be eating both bowls, and I don't even have the excuse of pregnancy to justify. Sounds heavenly. I didn't know that Easton was 9 and 1/2 pounds! Yowsa! I bet he was sooo cute and chubby though:) Babies are supposed to be fat. So I say, keep the ice cream comin!

I would've eaten the two bowls. I love that you haven't cut out the cookies, you're just eating a healthier version. I think that's a smart plan. Did you gain that much weight during your pregnancy? I don't remember that. You look super cute. I wanna see belly shots once that starts happening. Hey, did you send me your number? We should chat! megan.jentzsch@gmail.com

Eat up. Your child will probably be big no matter what you do. I eat like a total oinker and still give birth to tiny babies. It's a bit depressing to have the nurse say the baby is 6.5 pounds.

Love your dollar enginer hat that we got when we came to visit!!!
Hey, and I thought that I was doing good with just gaining 1 pound this Dr's visit. Now that I haven't felt sick everytime I eat this week... I'm sure it's not going to last.
Lots of Love.
