My Little Man is 2 1/2

I really don't take the time to talk about Easton very much on this blog, but the little guy is approaching 2 1/2 and is getting ridiculously smart and cute, so I wanted to share what he has been up to.He has been talking up a storm for awhile now, but lately he is actually making sense and having conversations, and saying the cutest things. For the most part he is a polite boy, saying please and thank you or no thank you. Right now he has "you're welcome" a little mixed up. If Steve and I compliment him on eating a good dinner or being nice or whatever by saying, "Easton, you did such a good job!" he says excitedly, "you're welcome!!" One of my favorite things he says when I ask him to do something is , "Sure!" But the way he says it sounds more like 'shore'. I don't know why I just think it's so cute. The other day we were at town square ( a park) with his friend Nathan and they were playing in a car...Easton in the front and Nathan in the back. Nathan, who says the funniest things says, "Easton, can you take me to high school?' "SHORE!" I died laughing.

This morning when Steve walked in getting ready to leave for work, Easton said, "hey, cool blue shirt, dad!" And he always loves to say that things are so cute. Mostly Claire...he thinks Claire is so cute. And she is.

He also still loves to talk on the phone, mostly to grandmas and grandpas. It makes me happy that he doesn't run away when I want him to talk on the phone. I'm sure that will come later, though.

Sometimes I think that he is not my kid...he LOVES chocolate but doesn't really care much for ice cream, cookies, cake or anything else. He's like his dad in that way I guess. It's not fair.

He is currently obsessed with trains (more specifically, Thomas). We live super close to the train tracks and I'm pretty sure the train wakes him up every morning much earlier than I'd like. This morning it was about 7:20 when I heard it, and then Easton through the monitor saying, " A train! I heard it! Choo Choo!!!" I hate that train. This is a little train he was playing on the other day. He's with Reagan. I'm so grateful for all of his little friends he has here!!

TV is our friend lately. He still loves all the same shows; Dora, Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse...but lately, Blues Clues is his favorite. He carries around his notebook and sits in the thinking chair and sings the songs. Currently he is telling me has has "All 3 clues! Where's my handy dandy notebook?"

We have tried and failed at potty training a few times, but I have now resolved to just relax. As of yet I don't mind changing diapers, so I'm waiting for him to let me know whan he's ready. Hopefully sooner rather than later...

He has made a drastic step forward in the eating department. My main struggle since the day he was born. He eats great breakfasts, and better lunches and dinners. He will at least TRY most things that we make, which makes it so I am less of a short order cook now. It helps that he loves fruits and vegetables. Now if I could get him to eat any kind of meat.

Basically I am LOVING this kid right now. He's saying the funnest things, his face LIGHTS up when his dad enters the room, he tells us he loves us and gives the best hugs and kisses. I am still a little apprehensive about having another baby. I know it's cliche but I just can't imagine loving anyone else this much. I'm comforted by the fact that I KNOW it will change once she's born.

I probably missed a lot, but there's a little update for you. He is my favorite little buddy and I just love him to death!

That sure did my heart good. I love catching up on what he is doing and can't wait to see for myself how he has grown.

I'm glad he is eating better for you and that you are enjoying him so much right now. It does go in stages sometimes but he is so good.

I remember the feeling that I might not be able to love another baby as much but it's a miracle, one of those special blessings that comes with being a parent. The love might be different but equally as intense.

Give him a big kiss!!

He IS rediculously smart and cute and always has been! We LOVE Easton- he's the best little buddy! I love how he says "So CUTE"! It's my personal favorite and I wish I would have been there when Nathan asked him to drive him to high school! Too funny! I just can't wait to see Easton as a big brother to his cute little sis! He's going to be so sweet and so cute with her. I can't wait- but I know you can!

What a great post! I, too, am loving my little guy right now. Such a fun stage as they're learning all sorts of new words and phrases. I wish our boys could play together... I think they would be great friends, especially as they share their love of trains! We just recently discovered Thomas the train. We're a little more into fire trucks and ambulances, though, since they're just across the street. I'm sure glad Ethan sleeps through the sirens! Easton is a cutie and I love the pictures. :)

I feel so updated about him now! I request more posts about Easton. Except for the fact that I'm really missing him now. I guess I can wait a month.

P.S. I've had about 3 friends lately comment on how cute his picture is on my fridge.

He is pretty dang cute. I admit, I've wanted to steal him a few times and keep him for myself. And don't worry, sometimes I wonder if Ethan is Vegan. If it weren't for hot dogs, I'd think he was anti-animal eating.
