Getting Caught Up

These past couple of months have just flown by, and I have hardly documented what we have been up to. Probably because it hasn't been anything too exciting. The first few days after we moved in I was really gung-ho and productive, getting a lot done in the house...but since then it has been slow going. Now I want to do more fun things like swimming.

Here is a before and after of Easotn's room. The colors don't really show up very well. Before it was a mustardy gross color...now it's REALLY orange. I'm glad to have it done, but now we just need to get him a real bed to sleep in and then his whole room can come together. He really is getting too big for a pak n play.

It seems as though summer is upon us. Our new neighborhood has a pool, so we have been going there as much as possible. I'm so happy that Easton loves it this year. The pool he loves, but splash parks...he hates them. Unless it's in a bath or a pool, he says, " I don't like water!" It's always too bright for swimming pictures, but I did get one of the kids doing their second favorite thing at the pool. That bowl of fruit was devoured in a matter of minutes.

We went to our first birthday party of the summer. It was a pirate party and Easton perfected his "Arrrgh Matey!"

Steve and I were able to get out and go to a nice dinner courtesy of his boss who couldn't go and had 2 tickets. It was for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I really wanted to get a picture of us because we were dressed up, but it never happened. It was really fun though, and despite feeling slightly under dressed (what does business casual mean anyway?) I had so much fun, and liked learning more about how Make-A-Wish works. I could feel my feet starting the swelling process, so I wore my flip flops to this event and EVERYONE else had on really fancy shoes. I felt a little silly, but I'm pretty sure my good shoes wouldn't have fit over my fat feet.

So, to make my expanding feet look a little cuter (if possible), last night we went out to celebrate this girl's upcoming baby and got pedicures. I can no longer reach my toes to paint them myself, so this worked out well. Can you guess which foot is mine? Easton couldn't.

The best part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation charity event was that we sat at the same table with at least two anchors for local TV news broadcasts, and about two on-air reporters. We had NO idea who they were. At one point I asked one of the anchors how they all knew each other. I wonder if their egos were bruised?

I need to get over to your house again and check out Easton's orange room! I love your pool and I'm so glad they have so much fun in the water, cause what else are we going to do all summer long?? I love the picture of all our toes- so cute! I can't wait to do it again.

I cheated, so I know one foot that is not yours, but my first was the pink sandal!

Now Easton needs to learn shiver me timbers! He is so adoreable! I'm surprised he put on the patch for a pic!

I'm sure he was a lot of help painting! Now all he needs is a little Bronco Bule to go with the Bronco orange and he will be all set for football season!

That is tricky, I know what your toes look like but with all of them together it is hard. I think it is the pink flip flop, which I don't see you wearing or the top middle.

The bedroom looks great and Easton is so adorable with the patch.

Okay your foot is the bottom right one with the greenish silvery polish, I can pick out those toes anywhere, I have given them many a coat of paint in my time :) I Love the color of E's room, so bright, I can't wait to see it all put together!

Black slipper with silver polish. Am I right? :) Seems you guys have been busy with summer fun and painting a new house! I LOVE the orange room but don't envy you having to do it--I hate painting walls.

Ah, I like the inside story Steve gives.

I can't spot your foot but if mine were in it, it would be the crusty foot that hasn't had a pedicure in two years. I need to make some pedicure friends. You simply can not go by yourself.

Ok, I can't even believe I'm going to say this, but is your foot the bottom right corner? I've have known your feet for more than 2 decades now. And that one looks like yours. So cool you're in your new house and have a freakin pool! I'm so jealous! You're gonna be like Lizzie now. In the pool everyday and effortlessly tan. Far from my lifestyle. I love that you painted Easton's room Orange. That is awesome. So cool you got a sweet night out with Steve. Sounds great. I love getting dressed up. There's never any occasion now! Don't worry about the shoes. You're a pregnant woman. Have you ever seen a pregnant woman in heels? I'm sure no one thought anything of it. Good to hear from you!

That's hilarious, Steve! How fun to go to a dress up dinner.

Way to go on the painting and unpacking. I want to see your house!

I looked and looked at the feet and I have no idea!

Ha ha! I love all the guesses on which is your foot. I'll be perfectly honest, I have NO IDEA! And none of those feet even look remotely swollen so that was no help.
I'm envious of the painting you get to do. I know it's a pain, but at least it means you're in your OWN home! Us renters are stuck with plain ol' white walls. Blech. I also wish I could go to the pool so much during the summer. How fun!!
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
