Home Sweet Home

This year the kids and I took a last minute, 2 day trip to Oregon. We had a blast, and I'll write more about it later, but as I sit here with kids asleep, just Steve and I lounging around, I can't help but smile and think about last Christmas and how close we came to spending it without Steve. When he rolled in close to midnight on Christmas Eve, after waiting in airports, missing flights, renting a car, driving on icy roads, etc...I was never so happy to see him, and would never want him to have to miss out on seeing his kids on Christmas.

So he was a little reluctant for our trip, simply because it happened so close to Christmas, and he worried that something could keep us from being together on Christmas again. I'm happy to report that we made it there and back without incident and we are all here together, anxiously awaiting Christmas. I'm so looking forward to spending the day with my family.

This year especially I have been reminded of how precious my little family is. Some friends of ours took a trip to CA to spend Christmas doing in vitro; hopefully it will be the best Christmas ever for them! Another friend just adopted a baby girl, who was born early and is struggling in the NICU. Her parents will be spending Christmas there, by her side, waiting to bring her home as soon as she is healthy and strong enough. So wherever you are and however you're celebrating this year, I hope it's the best!

Merry Christmas!

We missed you on Christmas! but being with your own little family is what Christmas is all about.

I can't beleive how big Carly is getting! I had to do a double take to make sure it was her! I'm glad you got to spend some time with your family in Oregon, they are terrific! Love you Lani

Oh, that made me cry too!. I'm so glad for your short visit and so thankful you made it home to have a wonderful Christmas with Steve and the kids. We loved having you so much and really needed a Carly and Easton fix bad, she changes SO fast. Thank you so much for going to all that effort, it was huge.

I can't believe how she is sitting up and wearing a skirt...so adorable!
