Trees and Trains

I hate winter. I'm freezing. This week it warmed back up to almost 60 and it has been so nice, except the inside of our house is like an igloo. The upstairs is nice and warm, but it's impossible to heat the downstairs. I have been wanting to blog our festive outings as of late, but every time I sit at the computer, I can't get past how cold I am and I just get mad.

But now I'm sitting with my snuggie all toasty warm, so here come the pictures.

Steve's cousin Winston was driving through from Utah to California and he stopped to stay for a night. We snatched his help in getting our Christmas tree. In your mind, just swap the background of the pallets and shelves of the Home Depot and switch it for beautiful snow and gorgeous Oregon Christmas trees as far as the eye can see. I thought this would be an okay year as far as kids keeping away from the tree...Carly is too little and Easton is old enough to know better. But, that hasn't stopped him and he can't keep his dang hands off the thing. He just likes to rearrange and move the ornaments around. It drives me crazy.
Above is our first trip to Bass Pro Shops to see all of the fun stuff they have out for kids. Easton saw the train and never cared about anything else. He just sits there and watches it go around and around. Below is our second trip to see the train. Notice Santa in the background. Easton could not have cared less, he was just there to see the train.

And this is our most recent trip (number 3...and counting) to see the train at BPS. When we got there it wasn't working, but since I have been there so many times I can usually figure out how to fix it. This time we needed help though, so the kid in the background is working hard to fix it...just for Easton. He is the only kid there and wants to watch the train go around in circles. So while he is hard at work Easton says, " I love that guy."
This is the lighting of the "Tallest Christmas tree in the nation." We missed the actual lighting ceremony, but it was still fun to look at. Very bright, and very tall.
Well that's what we have been up to. I'm busy busy trying to get presents wrapped, presents shipped, treats made, etc...this is such a fun time of year. I hope you're all making the most of it with your families!

Ha! It took me a sec to realize Easton was wearing a different outfit in all the train pics. Hilarious!!! What a good mom you are, taking him to see it so often. That tree is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Even though Carly was small in that last pic, she just looks so cute and snuggly and I want to hold her! YOU HAVE A SNUGGY!!!! I forgot all about snuggies. I think I might be getting one for Christmas :)

Boys and trains... I love it. Ben is the same way about trains. I can't imagine how much he'd love one that actually moved on its own. He'd die of joy.

How fun! I love that he said, "I love that guy"...soooo cute. How funny he loved the train and didn't care about Santa. Love the tree pics! Lots of fun! I need to have a better attitude of getting gifts done. I am stressing because I am running out of time! I need to just have a better holiday season attitude I guess.

I'm glad you wrote that down! "I love that kid!" I'm talking about Easton. I never even asked you about the tree at the M! It looks cool, and freezing. I'm with you, cold all the time!

Three comments: (1) Snuggie Power! (2) I fear Easton is inheriting his father's forced "picture" smile. Sorry Steve. (3) Easton and Carly should come visit Utah for Christmas, parents optional.

Such a fun post! I was thinking, oh, I should have gotten Em a snuggie for Christmas! Isn't it great that Darren is a snuggie lover!!

I love the pictures and can't wait to see me kids and you, of course:)
It looks like you have been busy taking in all the sights around Vegas. I hope we have time to drive around and see some lights with Easton while you are here.
Can't wait. I like Daniell, need an attitude adjustment. I love all the prep and I love Christmas but it's just so busy, where have the first 18 days of this month gone?

A forced smile is necessary in the Jolley family, because they take about a thousand pictures at a time. After a while the genuine smile is lost. Sad really.

It's true.

You guys look like you're having so much fun always. That's so awesome. :) I swear that Easton, he's a looker. If I were just 26 years younger... and not cousins with his mother.

The comments on this post were as fun to read as the post itself! I'm glad you have your snuggie, Cause I was thinking the same as mom, (I need to get her a snuggie!) If that guy will fix the train for easton, then I love him too. Merry Christmas sister!
