Carly Turns 1!!

My baby girl turned 1. I have been too depressed to blog about it. She wasn't a baby for long enough! My parents just happened to be here on the big day, so we had a minor celebration for the 1 year old.

It's hard to put into words just how much I love this girl. She has brought me nothing but complete joy for the last year. I remember being so scared to have a girl. But it's not scary at all, it's actually quite cool.
It was wicked hot on her birthday, just like on the day she was born, so we opted for an indoor activity. The Conservatory at the Bellagio is always a big hit...well, the gelato next door is anyway. I just have to mention right here that my parents were in town because they were off on a big road trip. My dad just retired from the Railroad after 48 years!! 48 years people. They had a big, fun family celebration, but we weren't able to make it, so we were glad we got to see him shortly after. As far as I know, so far he's loving the retired life. Dad, I think you're amazing. Thank you for working so hard for so long to support our big family. I can remember one day that you stayed home because you were sick, and zero times that you complained about being called out at every hour of the night, and having to miss out on lots of things. I admire you so much and think you deserve to live it up!

Gelato before birthday cake? Can I just tell you how refreshing it is to have a baby who loves treats with me? Easton would rather eat cucumbers than cupcakes or ice cream.

No pictures please, I'm busy.

My 2 favorite pictures of the day. Sadly there is not one with me and my baby, but isn't that always how it goes? This daddy loves her so much.

Carly:
weighs 20 lbs
*walks all over the place, and thanks to Easton always wanting to chase her, she is working on running.
*loves to eat (yay!!). Her favorites include yogurt, bananas, mac and cheese, cookies
*makes the cutest scrunchy face
*SMILES NOW and occasionally giggles
*sleeps like a champ
*loves her mom, but is constantly saying daddy
*thinks Easton is the coolest, funniest creature
*can go up the stairs but not down
*gives the best kisses and snuggles a mom could ask for

We love you so so much Carly! Happy Birthday sweet girl!!!

Oh man! I can't believe she's one! How did that happen? I swear she was just born! It makes me sad too. She has been the cutest baby. I gotta say Em, your bod is an inspiration. I hope I can get my stomach as flat as yours after my baby. Granted, I don't think it's ever been that flat since I graduated highschool. Did you make those cupcakes and decor? I didn't realize you were so talented in the craft department. I am totally impressed! All you girls put me to shame!!!

That was such a fun day and I'm so happy we were there with you. She is such a little doll and we enjoyed it all so much. I hope she continues to be a great joy to her mommy, it's the greatest blessing ever. I know she will!

Love you and can't wait to see you all soon.

I am ga-ga over her beautiful blue eyes. They are big time rivals in cuteness to a pair of brown ones here at my house.

It was so lovely seeing you!
