Go Beavs!

Backing up a little, right before Carly's birthday, the kids and I (shocker, hubby had to work, poor guy never gets any vacation) drove up to Beaver, UT (or as Easton calls it, The Beavers)to be able to spend more time with my parents and visit my grandma. Every time I go there I get overwhelmed by the small town feel, the cooler weather, the beauty and I decide I want to move there. Steve says no. But I'm sure glad we at least get to visit!

I introduced my dad to scrabble on facebook, so this is what we did a lot. Usually I was sitting right next to him and we passed the computer back and forth taking our turns. See his adorable grand baby begging for his attention? Too focused.

This little creek runs right next to my grandma's house and E thought it was way fun to stick his feet in. Being from Las Vegas we are always fascinated with any forms of water.

Here he is, the retired one, just relaxing. And boy does he deserve it.
Maybe part of the reason i love Beaver so much is because my Mom does. She was born and raised there and I love hearing her stories about her as a young girl and all the fun things they did as a family. She took us up the canyon a little ways to a picnic area. It was nice and cool up there and again, we took advantage of the water. Easton loved being in the forest and being in places like that makes me feel guilty that I am depriving him of such beauty and accessibility by living in Las Vegas (although we do really love it).
Hold onto her tight Grandpa, we like her!!!

Maneuvering rocks and rapids in a skirt is not easy, but I have this fascination with walking along rivers on rocks. I just happen to love it.

We had a great 2 days up there, and while we are still avid Duck fans, we love "The Beavers" a lot too.

Oh, I love those pictures! Easton has it right, go BEAVERS! Don't worry, your kids aren't deprived, you take them on lots of fun little trips to experience things.

I really do treasure growing up in Beaver though, I think small towns are just the best. I'm so glad you were able to join us there this trip.

You did create a monster with scrabble on line.

I was so worried when I read the title of this post. So glad that The Beavers is referring to the one in UT.

Looks like so much fun and makes me think that maybe there is more to Beaver then just the Wendy's and the gas station.

The beavers!!! hahahaha i love that. Those pictures are far too adorable. And this post is too funny because I just posted about how much I love beaver and then I wandered over to your blog to find that you had posted about how much you love beaver! Mom sure has us convinced hahaha! But seriously- I always feel the same way, like I want to move there.

Anyway, those pictures of mom and dad with the kids are awesome!

Glad you get to experience the small town life- I agree with your Mom. It is awesome to grow up in a small town and it's great to visit. Living there again though, not too sure about that. I am like Christi too, I didn't know there was much to Beaver but the Wendy's and gas station too (the most expensive gas in UT at that!).

That's awesome! My husbands dad was born and raised in Beaver, so he's got some roots there too. I have never really spent time there, but it looks nice! Any small town that is green and has water is likable to me!

I don't think my kids know what a river is... but maybe they appreciate nature more because they don't see it all too much. I know I never appreciated Northern CA until moving here. Vegas'll do that to you! Looks like a fun place to visit, and not too far from Vegas either!

I too have fallen for "the Beavers." I just love picturing Grandma Fern arranging flowers in her house and Grandpa working in the tire shop next door. And it's so beautiful up the canyon!

Carly is so beautiful. She really is. Whenever I see pics of your Dad it makes me smile. He's such a crack up.

Living in the desert...can relate so much. The forest and rivers are like disneyland to my kids. = )

Em-on the headband post, under "supplies" I have a link listed of where to get that stretch ribbon. It took me FOREVER to find that stuff, because on etsy, they call it "foldover elastic". Hope this helps!
