Gross Car

I don't like it when my house is dirty/messy, so you'd think that I would feel the same way about my car. Sometimes (and I'm working on this) I just follow my kids around picking up mess after mess, dropped fishies, crumbs, clothes, etc. But for some reason I let everything go in my car. It was extra bad this time, and I think that's why I kept putting it off and just letting it get dirtier. Gross.

When I finally took it to get cleaned I found this upon my return:

I was laughing pretty hard while I was taking Carly out of the stroller to put her in her seat. I tried joking with the car washer guy (there's where all of our sippy cups went, ha ha ha) but he was too busy vacuuming out the stroller, which was equally as gross as my car. Well, that and he didn't speak English... and probably doesn't appreciate sippy cup humor anyway.

The moral of the story is that I'm going to try and stay on top of my car's cleanliness. I'm lucky there was no old milk in any of those cups; just water. Otherwise I'm sure the smell would have had me getting it cleaned much sooner.

I am SO with you on this. The house is a big deal and the car just doesn't speak to me in that same way. I guess we've got to cut ourselves some slack somewhere. I love hearing about your adorable family.

Been there!! It is SO HARD for me to get out and get the car cleaned. I vacuum it out myself and "reward" myself with a car wash. I've been trying to be good about bringing trash, sippy cups and snack bags in every time I get out of the car so it doesn't accumulate. And, as my Dad always says, "a clean car just seems to drive better"!! :)

That is my car! Only it's binkis instead of sippy cups. Although I'm sure there are a lot of sippy cups in there, too!

Hilarious. You hit the jackpot of sippies though. My car is way grosser because along with the cups are crumbs, hair clips, socks, shoes and toys.

Now I need to go to the car wash tomorrow.

hahahahaaaa Em this cracked me UP! Here's the embarrassing part for me, my car is filthy and probably has that many water bottles rolling around it, but I don't even have kids! Yowza, I'm in trouble!! Funny post! Now gimme more pics of those babies!

Oh Ali, this pic was taken after the car was cleaned, so you miss the fishies, toys, and yes, even a few hair clips.

So funny! I cound not believe he found all those cups in there! I guess you came by it naturally, I never wanted to clean the car or cared too much about it. I knew that when it got bad enough, Dad would do it. Funny thing, I just did it today on the coldest day of the year so I could put the car seat back in. I won't tell you how bad it was under the car seat.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one out there driving around in a mess!! Funny thing is, I used to enjoy cleaning it and did it weekly until I had kids! Now its last on the list.

But wowzers, that is a ton of sippys!! At least your kids are keeping hydrated.

Me too! My motto is, let it get really bad so it's really worth the cleaning. Now that Joseph is in the backseat and I'm never back there, it gets pretty disgusting. I have a friend who called her car a goldfish graveyard. I can relate.

Awesome! I'm not the only one whose car looks like this! Strange how we have several of the same sippy cups...
