Racing Mind = No Sleep

Why is it that by 7 pm I am utterly exhausted, but that I still stay up, and by the time I go to bed around 10 or 10:30 I'm wide awake again? I'm so dumb. I should go to bed at 8.

Summer is here. I love Las Vegas. I miss Oregon.

Easton is starting to think words like toot and poop are funny and cool. Carly pooped in the bathtub tonight and Easton was mad that I cleaned it up because he wanted to see what shape it was??? I love baby boys, but older boys scare me.

My heart can't take much more sad news. Someone tell me something happy!

I have been running.

No, that's not a joke. My mom thought it was a joke. But really I have been. I'm not good or anything, but I'm doing it. And it's...semi-fun? Never ever thought I'd say that. We'll see how long it lasts.

I'm looking forward to the 4th of July because it's one of my favorite holidays, AND, my best friend from high school is coming to visit! She takes care of 3 boys while her husband works and is gone a lot...she's due for a break. I cannot even wait!

You know how when you tell someone you have never done something, like say, eaten at Pizza Factory, and then you get this response: "You've NEVER EATEN AT PIZZA FACTORY?!" I'm always taken aback, like... how do I respond to that? " NO! IS IT THE BEST PLACE IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE?!?!?!?!" I must go there! Well, I did that to someone yesterday. My friend and I were at the library, and she is an avid reader. I saw a Harry Potter book on a cart and got all sad because, as you all know, HP is coming to an end next month. Anyway, she mentioned she had never read the books (WHAT?!)...yea, you better believe I went crazy. And in the library of all places! I could see the look on her face...the same look I gave those who couldn't believe I had never eaten at Pizza Factory. I had to eat at Pizza factory-she has to read Harry Potter. That's how it works. I still maintain that it is not that weird that I had never been there before. There are 9 in the whole USofA and they are all in Utah. Not weird.

It feels good to unload my mind to all of you. Maybe now that all this is out I can go get some sleep...

First I love that Easton wanted to see what shape it was!!! That's pretty funny. Jealous that you are running, and I am not. And I love the pizza factory thing. I haven't read HP either. Hope you will still be my friend :) Hope you can go to sleep.

Don't feel too bad Em. I've never read Harry potter or eaten at Pizza Factory! I've been running too....That's an even bigger joke! We should meet in Oregon or Utah and do a run together!

funny, funny girl. i read the first HP but then quit. haven't seen any of the movies, either. i love bread twists at pizza factory. and i used to love running but i'm not sure how to make it happen here without getting up really early. the track at the gym isn't so bad, but i can't go more than a few miles on it before i lose count and get bored. see you in a bit!

I mean really, why would anyone have not read HP by now?? I about died laughing reading about the poop incidents because that is the story of my life right now! I was just complaining to John last night that every other word out of our boys mouths right now is poop or fart or butt and its really wearing on me. Sometimes they will just look at each other and say "poop" and start laughing like it was the most hilarious joke they have ever heard. My first thought is always, "Really? It is that funny just to say the word?!!" Even their songs they make up always contain some type of potty talk until I threaten to wash their mouths with soap.... be grateful you only have 1 boy for now!! haha.

1 more month until the final movie!! Can't wait :)

The Pizza Factory is soooooooooo not comparable to HP. C'mon!!! We're talking about a WORLD WIDE OBSESSION!!!!! Your reaction is SOOOOOO much more realistic. I mean we're talking about 9 restaurants compared to 9 people in the world that HAVEN'T read this fabulous series. I've met a few of those wierdos and I'll just never understand. You need happy news??? Hmm . . . I don't really have any. I'm sorry you keep hearing bad news. Wow, now you're a runner. One by one, everyone ends up a runner. But I won't. It just won't happen. I think it's because if you run, you're by yourself. How many mothers EVER get to be alone? I think that's why it happens. So MAYBE I'll get there. That's so good for you though! I sort of hate to run. I liked it for a random summer/fall and ran 3 miles and was really proud of myself.

UGH! I know how you feel!! I am so tired all day long and then when it's time for bed my body thinks its NOW time to start thinking of all the things I need/want to do etc. grr! HA funny about Easton. He's growing up, that's for sure! Good thing he's so cute! Good job running!! WOO! Love you!

Yeah sis, unload those thoughts! It's good for you and we like hearing them. I am soooo proud of your running and YES you are good at it. You have made serious improvements!

UH OH Easton is becoming a BOYYYY BOY. What are we going to do about that? I suppose it's a good thing, but not so much all at once.

Oregon misses you. And I miss Las Vegas! I've never eaten at pizza factory and it's right up the road... don't tell your friend. But who would ever admit that they haven't read HP? COME ON PEOPLE!

I think last winter was the first time I ate at The Pizza Factory. And I even lived in Provo for 2 years. I don't think you are missing out too much. I hope no one attacks me for saying that. And I too love that Easton was upset that he didn't get to see the shape. It's funny what kinds of things interest little boys.

You made my day!! I love you and you are hilarious...I can't stop cracking up.

I think it's time for you to get some good, uplifting news but sorry it won't come from me, I've got nothing.

Your post is too funny. I too have never eaten at Pizza Factory, and unlike you......I have lived MOST of my whole life in Utah.

I have such a sheltered life!!!

Easton is funny....and scary. I remember little boys, oh what fun they are!!!

You'll be glad that you are running when you get "older" and your body starts to fall apart at 50!!! It really sucks. I love going to the gym but since my knee surgery I can't run, so that is out for me. Keep it going!!

Very funny post, I can't believe Easton really said that:) I don't want him to be a big boy, you are right to be scared:) I love him so much and miss him.

I still can't believe you are running, you hated to run. I hate to run and I'm worried you will hurt yourself. On the other hand, I know how good it feels to exercise every day and swear by the fact that it will make you have a better day.

So glad you love Vegas but wish you were here this Summer with us to sit out and hang out with Jenni and Michael.
Love and miss you all, hope all goes well for Carly.

Great post Em! Sometimes the random things about our lives are the greatest things to write about. Too funny. Happy sleeping!
