Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas this year once again. It was our 3rd year staying home and just being our little family and we loved it. We miss our other family of course, but this is fun too. Christmas Eve was spent at some good friends' house but nobody got any pictures of it! We had a blast with the Wayments and Grahams and love our holiday traditions. The kids had fun exchanging gifts with each other and were bouncing off the wall excited for the next morning.

Love this picture of my cute boys.

Carly loved her Christmas Eve jammies. Easton not so much. Before opening he says, "This feels like clothing." And after, "Um, this isn't exactly what I wanted..." Before long we had him thinking that sometimes clothing can be cool, especially when they are star wars pj's. But I think 5 year olds probably like toys best.

Now this we did a good job with. We finally have a Wii and Easton got his Mario game. The sad news is that I might love to play it more than he does. I can see fights ensuing. Can't wait until I have a newborn and can stay up all night playing this.

Carly got set up with a new scooter. Isn't she cute in all her pink? It's her favorite color and if she weren't so dang adorable I would oppose it.

The kids got new crocs because that is what they live in around here. I love that we got to ride bikes outside on Christmas. The weather has been in the 60's. Who the heck needs a white Christmas?

Carly got a princess book to paint but even though there are 4 other princesses in it, she only wants to do the Ariel ones. It has been a week and they are all gone. She's going to have to start liking the other, sub par princesses.

Check out the concentration. Easton scored with more legos thanks to his cousins and my brother. He was so excited to put them all together.

For Christmas dinner we kept it low key and went to the Grahams for some yummy sandwiches. Christi was days from having a baby (she has since had her precious baby Stella!!!) and I didn't want her going overboard like she did on Thanksgiving. I love these 2 friends.

Carly's first tu tu. And mine. I feel there will be many more of these in my future.

I love my kids and Steve and I had so much fun with them this Christmas. I'm sad for E to go back to school and Steve to go back to work, we have had a good time being together.

Remember the red pawr rangr that Easton wanted? Well, come Christmas Eve, Santa couldn't find it and was very, very frantic. Everything was all ready to go ( how much fun is playing santa, btw?!) except for that. I watched Steve look high and low for that thing for a long time. He was genuinely concerned that Easton wouldn't have it on Christmas. I know it sounds silly, and that's how I started my prayer, but I prayed so hard that Steve would be able to find that red pawr rangr that Easton wanted so badly. And he did...just before he was getting ready to head to Walmart to buy a new one. That was my favorite moment this Christmas. Seeing my husband wanting to make his son so happy. It made us both a little teary...probably me more than him, extra hormones and all.

I don't want to forget the best present of the day! My new camera! Now you all don't have to listen to me whine anymore about not having one. Steve came to my rescue and got me a beautiful new camera that I'm in love with. I gave him a kindle, which hardly compares, but I think he has been enjoying it. Thanks to our family for all the amazing gifts for our kids, they were spoiled and they loved it.

Church on Christmas was awesome. Loved the music and the messages, and the fact that it was only one hour. I think we should always go to church on Christmas, it really made the day more meaningful for me.

That wraps up Christmas 2011! I hope you all have a Happy New Year!

I remember you were pretty good at Mario on the nintendo back in the day. I hope Easton lets you have a turn sometimes.

Carol,
You mean you hope Emily lets Easton have a turn on Mario every once in a while?
