Sad But True

I am a little bit more than sad about this.
I don't know all of the reasons behind it, or the complaints or the stipulations...all I know is that I want to watch tv. And not re-runs. Last night was the last night that The Office will be new because they have stopped filming, since the writers have stopped writing. There are other shows that are affected as well, but I don't so much care about the others as much as The Office. Although last night I did hear that 24 might be postponed as well. And that my friends, is serious. Nobody messes with 24. Aren't all of those writers and producers and actors pretty dang rich? I mean, do they really need more money so badly that they have to ruin the only activity I can afford: watching tv?

So, I don't really watch any sitcoms...so my perspective might seem really obnoxious, but I think that this situation is a little on the funny side because it shows how dependent these shows are on their writers. The actors always get most of the credit for movies and tv. We always think, wow, that actor/actress is so funny, and so good, but a big part of what they're able to do is based on the fact that they have great writers writing funny stuff for them. I do hope it ends soon, but I'm glad Hollywood is more aware that not just the glamorous people keep the business going.

Sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear....so.....HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!

Oh dear. I hadn't heard about this and I'm also very upset! All I can say is that they better get this all figured out before Lost starts back up or I'll get really ticked. Thanks for keeping me informed, Em!

This post cracks me up. We don't watch tv (don't have cable or anything, but we watch movies here and there), BUT our friends do and they're FLIPPING OUT. I do love the office and 24 which we buy on dvd or rent, so as long as they stop the strike soon enough that the dvds will come out on time. So sorry Em.

Time to start reading, Missy. I have been totally consumed with my reading lately that I am behind on my t.v. shows. Not trying to be braggy or anything... well, maybe a little.

Kidding! Most of the books I have been reading are totally cheesy chic lit books. So, well, it isn't much better than television.

How in the heck do you have time to watch TV when have such a cute blog that must consume hours of your time?

I am so behind on the Office anyway that I am already watching reruns so...so far it isn't effecting me. I hope it doesn't last long though! TV is all I have, too! Although, lately I've been getting into all the shows on HGTV. I apparently have an obsession with home decorating shows now and must watch every single one. Also, I like to watch What Not to Wear on TLC. And since we just got Dish Network hooked up, even though they are probably all reruns, they are new to me. :o)

I guess I am glad that I watch quite a few reality shows. They don't need writers. But, if NCIS suffers......those writers are gonna suffer too.

I feel your pain. I just heard that they're going to break LOST up into two sections now too, and that it doesn't end at a good point, like Heroes is supposed to do. Thank goodness its basketball season or we might be forced to actually remove ourselves from the couch.
