Easton's First Hike

Well, I had too much fun at Red Rock so I decided that we needed to go again, but that this time Easton would be able to participate more. My friend and her little boy came too and we went on a short hike and then let the boys play in the dirt and water for awhile. SUPER FUN! We went ahead and bought a yearly pass, since it pays for itself in 4 visits and I've already been twice in the past week.
At first Easton wasn't too fond of the backpack, but pretty soon he was loving it. Thanks to my friend for letting me borrow it...I think it's something I might need to invest in. And Easton carried that football with him the entire time, and wouldn't let it go.

I've always loved hiking, but it was super fun to do something like this with kids. I hope to go back a lot!

Also, here's a pic from the park over the weekend. Some friends were here visiting and it was really fun to catch up (haven't seen them since our law school days) and see their little boy. He's so big now! I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with her so I could bug her about moving here. Great to see you guys, Ben is a total cutie!
I love this picture...Emery is such a good climber, she just wanted to get out every time we tried to put her back in to get a picture. Easton needs more boys to play with, so it was fun to have Ben around at least a little bit. And Easton has been so into Emery lately, he says her name all the time. She really is one of his best friends and it's so darn cute!!

Great pictures!! Did you just change your banner too, and is that picture from today? I love it!!! It was so fun and to top it off with Cafe Rio- couldn't have been more perfect! Thanks so much-let's make it a weekly event.

How fun is that! We really want to invest in one of those packs too! I am glad that you are enjoying the great outdoors, and I hate you (not really) for living where it is sunny and warm. It was snowing here today, yuck!

My husband is always taking the boys hiking anytime he can get. I have carried kids on my back many times over the years...the pictures take me back. Sometimes I had to do that just so I could go to the store! Pretty funny being at the store with my big old backpack but hey it worked!

I love the pictures! Thats the way to go hiking, riding on someones back! Actually, I love hiking too and haven't been for a few years...sad.

That looks like so much fun! I didn't realize what great weather you guys are having until I came home to snow and rain. It's great you were able to enjoy it!

And I think Ben loved playing with Easton. He's still getting used to playing with new kids. He's kind of a nerd in that he'd rather be off exploring on his own. He'll get there though... Let's hope!

That looks like fun! I didn't know Cafe Rio was involved...sheesh. I want to come next time. And Emery talks about Easton all the time. I love that they are such cute little buddies (when Emery isn't being a bully).

So cute. Hey do you change your banner like every day now? Do you do it in photoshop? They are always so cute! How far is Red Rock from where you live? Looks like a lot of fun!

I AM SOOOO JEALOUS!!!!! I would move down there tomorrow if I knew you and I could go on tons of great hikes with our little guys. MAN! Salem IS a stinker when it comes to outdoor recreation like that. You are very lucky and looks like that's Easton's cup-o-tea as well! Awesome!!!

I am impressed, I'm not much of a hiker so that just looked like a lot of work, but it looks like you guys had a lot of fun! It's so weird to see you guys are outside hiking and in short sleeve shirts, we are still trying to melt snow around here!

I LOVE the backpacks. I don't know how we would have survived our adventures last summer without Hannah's! Such a life saver! I can't wait until it gets warmer here so we can go out and hike...well more like waddle for me.

Way to get out there! It looks so fun. I need a backpack too. I think I'll start hounding Craigslist so we can do some hiking of our own with Justin. You've inspired me!

I want to hear Easton talking so bad now.

I love going on hikes! I wish it was warm enough and dry enough here to go on some! Pretty soon it should be warm enough to bring the backpack out of storage and get outside with the boys. I love the pictures. Easton is seriously just so darn cute..... and by the way, you always make the cutest blog headers!

OK American Idol: it is fine if you disagree- but I can't stand Ramielle and I am so happy that she is GONE NOW!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYYAY!!!!!!!!!!! My dad called me right after and we celebrated! I am really surprised that Brooke was in the bottom 3 tonight- that was such a shocker! Syesha or jason castro should have been in there. OK- Carly- I was rooting for her- but she just isn't amazing me anymore, jason castro I love but he is getting repetitive. I can't believe you don't love him, doesn't he remind you of eugene and the laid backness.... I like brooke, but I don't think she's incredible. I think she'll be the last girl in teh show for sure.

Everything looks like so much fun, and the landscape looks really unique and beautiful. And think of what a great work out you got w/carrying Easton...lol. That pic at the park is awesome! It's crazy how perfect it was, every window had someone there. Awesomeness!

Ok, first of all - how did you find me?? I found you through someone else's page, but I'm so new to this that I was shocked to see you had commented!
Second, I love your banner or header or whatever - it is super cute!
Finally - your family is adorable. I'm not much of a hiker, but I do like the outdoors. It's one of those things that if I don't have the time for it, it's hard for me to commit and be an 'outdoorsy' family. I'm jealous that you have the weather and the locations for such adventures!

Ok. I am a dork. I just realized my comment was in pretty much the exact same format as the comment you left on my blog: "First of all... second..." etc.
So much for originality!! :)

You are a better woman than I am! I could never carry a thiry pound pack, probably 35 pounds around and call it fun. David has never loved to hike as you well know so I never needed to carry the kids around. I love it that you are willing to take to time and make the effort to make memories with Easton. I love you both so much. Lani
