Well, after my in-laws left I spiraled into a deep depression because I came to the realization that it was all on me, once again, to take care of and entertain my child during the day. Poor Easton had so much fun for a whole week playing cars, riding bikes, etc...and it all came to an abrupt halt the second they left. In an attempt to be as cool and fun as grandma, we got out of the house and went to a new park close to our house. I was apprehensive because it has a little splash park and Easton usually hates those things...but he surprised me!Do you see that he is smiling? It's the wimpiest of the splash parks around, and it only lasted about 10 minutes, but hey...progress.
I think his success at the splash park was again, attributed to grandma and her ability to be more fun. She was willing to climb up to the twisty slide over and over and take Easton with her, until he finally did it by himself (usually he sticks to the smallest, straightest slides at the park). And, this is the first thing he has climbed...ever. I was so proud.

What a fun story. Easton is so darn cute. Can you take better pictures of the little guy? NO! He is adorable. They grow up so fast, I had a smile on my face as I pictured Lani climbing the stairs and taking Easton down the slide. What a great Grandma!!!!!
It sure makes things easier when they actually climb and play at the park rather than you having to be by their side every second... as long as they don't climb too high! (Ethan tends to be a bit more adventurous than I'd like him to be!)
That Splash park looks pretty cool - nothing like that in rainy, ol' Oregon.
Kids are always full of surprises. I love that he is not so scared anymore! He does look so extra happy, maybe we need to go there again.
I am so glad we found a splash park that Easton will like- hopefully this is just the beginning. He does look so happy and proud of himself, going down the big twisty slides and all! Let's go again- soon! Or, I'll just come pick him up and take him with us so you can take a nap!
I love that last picture of him! He looks so happy. I am glad that he liked the splash park. I want to go to that one. It looks fun.
Oh, how cute. I love it. I'm sure by the end of the summer, he'll be begging to go!
Way to go Easton! That's way exciting. He is so BIG now! And he's not chubby- he's like a boy! It's like I just realized. Can't wait 'till your little one comes. I don't remember your due date so everytime I see you've posted I get excited hoping to see newborn pics.
So cute!!!!!! Horray for Easton....
Hope you are doing the best you can with only a few more weeks to go. Miss ya!
Good job Easton! He looks so proud of himself!
Way to Lani, set it up for me to have to go down the slide. Emily and Jenni are still laughing about the last time I attempted that.
He looks so adorable and happy in those pictures like he is proud of himself for learning these new skills.
It does feel strange to have a new member of the family coming but as soon as you see her and hold her you will know she belongs. Can't wait!
oh my gosh, Em. That really is a strange thought that there are just a couple of more weeks with just you 3! CRAZY!!! I can't wait to see how Easton interacts with baby girl Rogers :) I love the pictures!! He looks SO much bigger than just a few months ago. I love splash parks, I wanna come!
yes, it's fun to have company and so sad when they leave. Sounds like E has a fun summer ahead though....splash parks, spiral slides, and climbing things....:) Awesome! Way to go Easton!
and how are YOU feeling? :)
