Spoiled For A Week

I do love having visitors, but having visitors when I'm 8 months pregnant, who do everything for me? Now that is nice. Easton and I were completely spoiled this past week by Steve's parents who drove down to visit from Idaho. I'll just describe our week in pictures, because my hands are swollen and it's hard to type a lot. Our first adventure was to the Hoover Dam, but mostly to check out the cool flyover they are building to bypass it so that there is not so much crazy traffic on that thing. Those of you who travel back and forth from here to Phoenix will be very happy when it's done. And it's wicked cool looking too.
On the way back from the dam we stopped at Lake Mead so Easton could throw rocks in the water for a minute. I had never been down to the beach there and it was actually pretty cool.

At the end of the week we went to the dolphin habitat at the Mirage and saw the dolphins and other animals they have there. Easton's favorite were the dolphins. I thought the huge lions were pretty cool...and the baby leopard was so cute!
Sadly, that's pretty much all of the fun outings we went on. Most of the rest of their vacation time was spent like this:Steve's dad brought a bunch of his tools and got the chair rail done in our loft, helped us hang shelves, put up Easton's black out curtains so he no longer wakes up with the sun (which in Vegas is about 4:45). Align Center Steve's mom helped me get the bedding made for the crib so now it's all done. Plus we found the most adorable little rocking chair at an antique store, and it's just what I have been looking for, so we snatched it up and she added a touch of cuteness to it. I love it!And while she wasn't sewing or working on some other project, she played hours of cars with Easton, rode bikes (which I can't do because Easton can't actually pedal and I refuse to bend over like that), played at the park, did dishes, vacuumed...and I'm sure there's more.
I tried to help where I could, but pretty much I let them do all the work, and by the time we put Easton down for a nap every day I was exhausted...and I hadn't even done anything! Then my MIL would say, "you should go take a nap" as she's sitting down to sew something else or asks if there's anything else she can do. I felt so guilty and lazy, but of course, I usually took her up on it and took a nap, or sat on the couch watching tv. I also did a lot of this:Man I look gross in this picture.

It was such a fun week and Easton was in heaven having grandma around to play with him all the time. And I feel way more ready (not 100%) for this baby to come now, with all the help from Steve's parents. Thank you thank you thank you!! We love you, come back anytime!

Wow, that bridge over Hoover Dam looks amazing! It looks too scary to drive over though. The beach at the lake does look pretty fun- and EAston looks so cute in his underoos, throwing rocks in the water. I'm so jealous that you had family in town for a whole week- I wish my parents stayed longer than two days so we had time to do all that fun stuff.
Your loft looks great and the baby's bedding and rocking chair look so cute! I can't wait to come see it all in person!

The bedding looks so cute. And the fabric on the rocker is the pink version of what I have in our baby's room. How fun.

I love that Steve's dad is holding a baggie of goldfish in that first picture.

Hang in there friend. Can't wait to hear the story of how this little girl makes her entrance into the world.

Parents visiting is the best! My parents fixed/built so much for us last summer when they came to visit. And Danny's parents were just here and helped out a ton, too. It feels good to be spoiled. :o) I'm glad you're feeling a little more ready for your cutie pie to arrive!

Having visitors sure is fun but visitors who help with projects and let you nap.....that's the best! :)

Now can we be friends again? Emery is going through Easton withdrawals.

Man, that was a jam-packed post! Lots going on. The house looks great, baby room coming along - fabulous! Sometimes I have to remind myself how fun it is to be a tourist in your own town - Vegas has some cool stuff for kids. I think we need to get over to the MGM too, that looked really cool!
