Blueberries and Toilet Water

This was one of my most favorite ever trips to Oregon (would have been THE best, but again, Steve was absent). We crammed so much fun in! For the first couple days (from the second I got home from the airport) I was busy with my class reunion, but when that was out of the way we just played hard for 5 days straight. Cute Carly at the park. After church we walked down to the river to throw rocks in. One of my favorite activities. This is what Easton did for 50% of the trip. "Let's go pick blueberries and eat 'em!!" The Mitchells have a trampoline and a blueberry patch right in their backyard. It was all Easton wanted to do, and all Carly wanted to eat. And she did. And she paid for it, with serious poop and a nasty diaper rash for 4 days straight. Too much information?
We love Grandma!!

We were so glad to be here for Mom's birthday!! In case I have never mentioned this on the blog before, I will now; Warner and LeAnn live next door to my parents. Warner and my mom were born in the same hospital, same day, same year, far far away in Cedar City. Then, by pure coincidence they ended up moving in next door to my parents in good ol' Springfield, OR, and there they have all stayed. Mitchells are pretty much family.
If you look closely, my dad and I are having a great time, but E looks terrified and Carly is looking bored as usual. Easton actually did this a few times and I was proud of him. He laughed the whole way down, but I think the part of actually going into the water scared him.

These boys had so much fun together. They swam their little hearts out. My very pregnant sister in law was nice enough to drive herself and her boys down from Seattle to play with us. It's usually the only time I get to see them, so I was so grateful. I sure love her boys and can't WAIT to meet their baby sister.

And last but not least, the two great things that my dad taught Easton while we were there. First: swatting flies. After seeing my dad being obsessive about swatting flies (at the dinner table), Easton was determined to get one himself. After a long hunt with grandma and several attempts, he actually did it. We were all very proud.

Second: Teeter totter teeter totter wash your face in TOILET WATER. To a 3 year old this is hilarious. And to a 69 year old. And to me.

The rest of our trip was spent at the Oregon Coast, but that will get it's own post.

Wow, great recap! I'm so glad you documented the fly swatting and especially the toilet water song, that is priceless. Love how you did the pictures too! I wish we could do it all again but am so grateful for the time with you, Jill and the kids. Couldn't have ask for a better birthday.

The fact that it has been ten years since you and all your adorable friends graduated blows my mind.

Ok, it's 1am so I just glanced and then watched that video. HILARIOUS!!!! I haven't read a thing, I'll have to later. I'm having little contractions, wondering if it's nothing or if it's something. We'll see . . . I really just need to go to bed, incase it's the start of the real thing :) But it probably isn't. I'm so sorry I missed you. So sad that you were in Oregon, a measly 3 hours away, and I couldn't come see you. I hate to say it, but next time. I'm so sorry I never called you back! I realized this morning I still hadn't and was gonna call you right after breakfast and now I realize I didn't once again!!! I'm so sorry! My Mom is coming to town tomorrow, life is just go go go right now. I will try to call you soon! Love you, Em :)
