House Pics

So, this is where we will reside for the next year or so. It's quite a bit different from the apartments we've rented before. Like...tons better! It's a really cute house and I'm getting used to all the space. At first it felt way too big, but now I like it. It's very white and the walls are empty...please throw all cute and EASY decorating ideas my way...otherwise I will just plaster Easton pictures all over the place!
View from the front.
This is what you see when you walk through the front door. Easton is enjoying a baby einstein video that Emery let him borrow.
Kitchen
Master bedroom. It's so big. To the left is a gigantic bathroom and walk-in closet.
This is at the top of the stairs. I just wanted to show that there are lots of windows. I like that about this place. Oops I forgot to put a picture of our backyard on here! Oh well, just picture a long, skinny path of dirt and a fence.

So there you have it. Home sweet home.

Dam Hot

We made it! It feels good to be reunited with Steve again. Easton and I drove down here with Steve's parents, who were kind enough to drive a moving van with all of our stuff once again, and get us moved in to our new place. Thanks a million! With the help of family and some good friends down here we were unloaded in no time and well on our way to calling this place home.

I must say I really do like this house. It's light and airy, open and clean. I hope that soon enough I can find my way around Las Vegas and feel more comfortable here.

Yesterday was our last day with Grandma and Grandpa, so we went to Hoover Dam for the afternoon. It's a way cool place. We took a dam tour led by some funny old guys who just love to squeeze in the word 'dam' before everything. They were hilarious. It was way super hot outside, which wasn't helped by the fact that we were standing on enough concrete to build a 2 lane highway from San Francisco all the way to NY. I learned that little fact yesterday on our dam tour.

So now it's just E and I at home...and now my open and airy house seems so empty and quiet with family gone, Steve at work and Easton asleep.

Here are a few more pictures of our day yesterday.

He loves to stick out his tongue these days.

Random Facts

1. I don't like chocolate. There are exceptions (I love brownies), but for the most part I think it's really gross.

2. I always sing in the car. I don't care whose car it is or who is in there...I sing, and usually pretty loudly too!

3. I love small town celebrations, parades and fairs...I think they are so fun. I love to walk around and see the booths, or shop or eat yummy food!

4. A lot of you already know this about me, but I can burp super loud!

5. I have always wanted to run a marathon. The bad news is, I hate to run. I just think it's such an amazing thing to accomplish and I am so envious of my runner friends who run races all the time. Maybe someday.

6. I love birthdays; mine, yours, a total stranger's. I think everyone deserves to be treated special on that day and it should always be fun.

7. I love big cities; the buildings, the bridges, the people and chaos and traffic and busyness. I love it all!

8. I want to drive across the country. I love to travel and sight see and drive, so someday I want to do that.

Okay Megan, Amy, Danielle, Amy Andrus, Lindsay, Sarina, Jill and Chelsea. Your turn...I want to hear about you!

Humbled

Thanks so much everyone for all your well wishes on our new adventure! And a BIG thanks to Christi, Alison, Destiny and Katie for helping us look for a place to live...you were all SO helpful! We're excited...Steve started his job today and found a house, so hopefully Easton and I will be able to get down there soon as well. I'll put some pictures up of the house sometime soon.

So during this whole process of quickly trying to find a house to rent in an unknown city without actually seeing it, moving, starting a new job, having a sick baby...I found myself getting a little stressed out. Today I am feeling a lot better and more appreciative. Thanks to blogging I am able to keep up with the goings on of good friends, and see what they are up to. One of my friends has 2 young boys at home, one of them sick, her husband has been out of town, they've been fixing up their house while the prepare to find renters and move, and one of their sons is getting ready to have surgery. Oh, and it's like a million degrees where she lives. She is amazing, and does it all probably with a smile on her pretty face! I truly felt humbled, and way grateful for the in - laws that I have around here to help me with everything going on here!

Another friend of mine just announced that after 6 years of waiting they will finally get to become parents and are adopting a baby in December! Talk about putting things into perspective! All of a sudden the things I was stressing about just don't seem to be that big of a deal. Our move and house will work out and Easton will feel better soon and go back to sleeping all night.

I know that everyone has their days and is allowed to be stressed when they feel overwhelmed, but I'm so grateful for strong friends and good news that help to remind me how very blessed I am.

In other news...here are a few new pictures. My batteries were dying in my camera, so they might be a little blurry.

Okay so I'm a little annoyed. I don't know what happened to the icon up top that lets me center my text...it disappeared. Dumb.

FINALLY!

Well, after a long wait, we got the word today that Steve will be clerking in Las Vegas! We are super excited and very relieved (it's not fun playing the waiting game!). This is the job we really wanted, so it worked out great! I'm not even very scared to move since we already have friends there that we love. That makes me feel a lot better for some reason. The only thing is that they want him to start soon, so I guess we need to find a place to live! Any suggestions?

Water Fun

It's been way too long since I've blogged! I've missed it, but I have a good excuse. Reading Harry Potter was taking every free second I had, and we also had our niece and nephew here for a few days, so we spent a lot of time at the pool. So here are a few cute water pictures of Easton. I'm really glad he likes it, it makes it so much fun. But, and maybe some of you moms can help me with this...he all of a sudden HATES his bath. What used to be the most fun part of the evening is now the most dreaded, because he screams and absolutely hates it. I hope he gets over that real quick because I don't think it's very cool.

The next paragraph is going to be dedicated to Harry Potter, so if you don't care, or haven't finished reading it...don't look!

I love Love LOVED the last book so much! It was funny, sad, happy, romantic, hopeful, and so much more! The one prediction I was right about, was Snape. I love him so much. He's the best character by far. I was wrong about other things, and kind of glad I was. Like, I always thought Dumbledore would always be this perfect, wise old Wizard (which he was for the most part), but it was nice to see that he had some imperfections, and even a past that he wasn't so proud of. It humanized him more...or wizardized him more I should say. Whatever. I love that Ron was brave and smart in this one, and I love when he and Hermione kiss...that's the best! I was sick with sadness about Fred...and Lupid and Tonks; I loved them all! As always, I loved Luna, and it was great how Kreacher changed, my favorite chapter was the Prince's Tale and I LOVED the Epilogue! I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did!

My Magical Evening!

FINALLY!!!!!

I have, in my possession, the "...seventh and final installment in the epic tale of Harry Potter." I can't believe the day finally came!!! My sis and I had a great time at the Barnes and Noble party! We met up with some friends and just walked around and checked out all the sweet costumes and games they had going on. It was perfect! And since I went yesterday morning and stood in line for a bracelet (which puts me at a better place in the REAL line to get my book), we had our books in our hands at 12:15! The store was packed and we all counted down the last ten seconds...and I'm not gonna lie; I was screaming. It was so much fun!

Now here is my dilema...I have TONS of family in town this weekend; sister, nieces, nephews...and then tomorrow I'm traveling, so I won't get to finish the book as soon as I would have hoped, but in a way that's a good thing because I'm just way too sad to see it end. I have tons of predictions, but on the way home last night I was thinking that they will probably all be wrong because my mind is just not as imaginative, creative and brilliant as J.K's...so how could I possibly think I know how her story will end? Oh man, I cannot even wait...why am I blogging right now instead of reading?!
