Shopping Carts

From now on I am only shopping at stores that are BRAND NEW, and thus have BRAND NEW shopping carts. I seriously cannot handle one more squeaky, rusty, rattly shopping cart. I always get those ones...Easton never gets a smooth ride. It's almost everywhere I go; Walmart, Target, Smiths...it really makes for a very unpleasant shopping experience. Usually the ones at Costco are pretty good, but I know it's just a matter of time until I get a bad one. The other day I was shopping and I got there super early and was one of just a few people in the store. Out of the HUNDREDS of carts, I tried 3 different ones until I found what I thought was a good one; but it was deceiving. It worked for about 10 seconds and then it was all downhill from there, and everyone could hear us coming from a mile away. When we need to get out of the house, we usually go to a store of some kind, and it's just easier if they have shopping carts. Plus it's a lot more fun for me if they have GOOD shopping carts. So, here is a list of stores that I think have acceptable shopping carts, and will therefore be getting more of my business:
* Costco
* Bed Bath and Beyond
* World Market
* Joanns
* Ross (sometimes)
* Michaels
If you know any other good cart stores, let me know!

You crack me up, but it really does suck when you get a bad cart... or carriage as they are called on the eastcoast.

I couldn't agree with you more Em. I always try out a few before I pick a good one. What I can't stand is when they veer off to one side over and over again, and you have to push the cart on one side only, really hard, just to keep it moving straight. I agree about Costco-good carts. Today I went to World Market-good carts. Unfortunately, I mainly shop at Trader Joes, and their carts SUCK!!! Well, I'm stepping off the soapbox now.

Cute picture of you and your hubby on the side.

You are hilarious! this happens to me all the time too! It ticks me off and I just end up dealing with it because it is too hard to go find another one and move Drew.

Bugs!

This is so funny because I will move my baby in and out of five carts before I'm satisfied. Then when I get too far away from the carts to turn back, my cart malfuncitons and I hate it. Wal Mart carts are ghetto.

Why didn't you mention the awesome ones at Lowe's or the the double one's at Target?? You know that I am the best driver of the 2 seater ones :)

Home Depot has nice carts and Jackson loves the race car ones although they are tough to manuever.

Today I got a bad Costco cart that wanted to keep turning left so I had to fight it the entire trip. I was totally bugged. I then learned that shopping carts and snow don't work well either. Somehow I blocked out all of my snow memories when I lived in Provo. I swear it was never this bad there. However, I didn't have kids so what did I know.

Oh, I so hear ya on the bad carts thing. I don't think I have ever had a decent one at Wal-mart. They are the worst and I think my right arm is still sore from having a cart the veered to the right the entire time. Augh!

I know this problem, and I hate it as well. Thanks for blogging about it. Glad to know I'm not the only one who seems to pick the worst car in the store all the time.

Emily, you are so funny! But I totally agree with you! I hate getting really squeaky carts. The worst though is the shopping cart that is contantly wanting to veer right or left. And then it seems that one of my kids always wants to ride in the actual "basket" part making it even harder to push. So getting a good shopping cart is soooo important.

I'm also so paranoid about the whole germ factor so we take our baby shopping cart cover every where we go so Isaac won't have to sit in a germy seat. I think I got more paranoid about that when Danny was in a Wal-Mart bathroom and saw a guy leave without washing his hands and then pushed his cart out of the store. ARE YOU SERIOUS? From that day on it was germ-free carts for me, thank you very much!
