Racing Day

I'm happy to report that I survived my 5k! We had such a fun morning raising money for this great family and sweet little boy. So many people turned out for this fundraiser and it was so cool to see people come together for a good cause. It was a major success! There were several different races, a bouncy house and train rides for the kids, and cupcakes galore!!

Such good friends I have. Thanks for coming, you girls rock!

Cutest kids ready for the 100 yard dash!

Yum!

Easton and I and the gorgeous Las Vegas backdrop. Easton is a sweetie...we had lots of talks about why we were doing this race, and lots of prayers for Greg. Not many prayers have been said recently that didn't mention Greg, but if we did miss one, Easton would say, "you forgot to bless Greg!!"

Tara was my 5k running/walking buddy. We finished, and that's all that matters, right? Why do I not look awesome when I run? We both look like we're about to die. But we have a history of looking really good in our pictures:See?

I'm just getting to know the Downer family, but talking with LeighAnn, I'm amazed at her optimism and positivity. I just really can't imagine how hard it would be. I don't know what I would do if one of my babies was so sick. I am more thankful than ever for my family and for our health. Greg is home and hopefully done with chemotherapy, and his family now, thanks to this fundraiser, can be a little less burdened financially. Thank you to my family and friends who donated and participated, and thank you Sara for putting the WHOLE thing together.

Really cool, Em. I love that Easton is so aware. I don't think I knew about cancer until well into grade school. But who knows. Love the pics. Oh man, pregnant pics. I don't want to look at mine for a long time. It's just too recent. Yours is HILARIOUS!!!! Thanks for sharing.

You guys are hot! And super hilarious. But Tara may be really mad at you. You know how she feels about pregnant pictures. So funny.

It really was such a fun time. I think it is so cute that Easton is so thoughtful about Greg. So sweet.

That is so awesome. You rock! And I think thats like...movie effects or something that makes ANYONE look cool while they run. Cause yeah...you're not alone on that front. Easton sounds so sweet. I love how aware and caring kids can be when you talk to them about serious stuff like that.

Look how everyone is saying I am going to be mad at you.. it's like they think I look bad in that pregnant picture or something! What?! I look awesome.. about 300 lbs. but awesome!

Seriously though it is a good thing I am not pregnant right now or else I would be bawling after seeing that.

Loved running with you!

Are you kidding...you do look awesome when you run! I'm glad you had a good turn out and that little Greg is home with his family.

See, Jenni agrees with me about the running!

We are super proud of you for finishing the race as we knew you would and for participating in such a great cause. I wish I could have seen Eason run the 100 yard dash and love the picture of him and all the cup cakes, I bet he didn't eat one though:) Totally love the pregnant picture.

I'm really sorry that we didn't make it to that fundraiser! Good job for finishing and I think you look great too! I love Easton and his sweet little heart. 4-year old prayers are the best- Nathan always prays for his Aunt Kimmy and her baby and he doesn't even get what's going on. Wish I had that kind of faith...

I am sad I was out of town that weekend and had to miss it. I am glad there were so many to support it! Did you and Tara finish first? It looks like it, with that yellow tape. Way to go! And I love the pregnant picture, that was my first bunco night!

Way to go, Em! And good job talking with Easton about it. That's cool that he's so aware of it all and to the point that he notices if blessing Greg is missed in the prayer.

I personally love your running and pregnant pics. I think you're a hottie.
